What if it was easier to raise driven and goal-oriented kids?
Has 2020 been a challenge for you and your family?
Do you need a way to reconnect with your kids (especially if YouTube has been their babysitter since March)?
Parents today understand the importance of raising kids today with integrity, responsibility, and developing life skills that we’ve started to take for granted in this day in age.
We know it’s important to instill values like cleanliness, helpfulness, loyalty, trustworthiness, and bravery. We want more for our kids than to just turn out “OK”.
The problem is that, especially in these unprecedented times, we are just going through the motions, faced with the unknown, and overwhelmed by all the new responsibilities and roles that come with distance learning and quarantining.
It gets even worse in this day and age with kids being unsupervised while consuming screen time and surfing online, leading to the kids and parents being distant and disconnected from one another.
What if there was an easier way to instill life lessons that you know are important for your kids and family without having to worry about searching for hours for actives or struggling to come up with a plan?
Imagine knowing how to break it down into just “12 Laws” that would help you raise your child into a friendly, courteous, and kind adult.
Without even knowing how to tie a knot yourself, you could help teach your children and family life and survival skills, and MORE.
We are excited to announce new enrollment opportunities for “New and Previously enrolled” cub scouts. We have revamped our 2020-2021 calendar to be fun and exciting with safety in mind, including social distant activities that are still fun and engaging.
Including a fall Pinewood Derby, and camp free to new and active members.
We have taken extra care into making sure every month’s Pack activity is fun, educational, and an event that will be a highlight of your month.
BENEFITS OF CUB SCOUTS
A Tufts University study released in 2015 found that that “[kids] in Cub Scouts became significantly more cheerful, helpful, kind, obedient, trustworthy, and hopeful about their future than non-Scouts.”
There’s just one step required that you can complete virtually before joining Cub Scouts.
Your application will take time to be approved by the unit leader (presently Travis Bjerketvedt). If you have any questions during the application process, contact your unit leader or local council service center.
Some of the success stories
Learning team work and patience.
When my son Noah joined the Baxter Cub Scouts, I was so impressed by how fast he started learning teamwork and patience - that he can’t always be first in line. He has learned a lot about working together towards a goal, thinking of others instead of just about himself. He's now more aware of leaving the world a better place than you found it (even when camping, clean up after yourself.) I love that Scouting reinforces and models good moral character with a Christian heart, while also helping boys emulate the older males they are around, which is so important in this fatherless world.Kristin DoucetteTaught teamwork and disclipine
Joining Cub Scouts helped my son to develop teamwork and discipline. He has learned a wide variety of practical skills and has learned how important it is to finish what he starts and leave places nicer than he's found them. He's developed deeper care and consideration for others and has learned a ton about partnering on projects and valuing others' ideas. Theo's teachers noticed a new level of motivation and I was grateful to see more focus and drive brought into his day to day life. Yes, he still loves Minecraft, but he's also excited about the great outdoors and creative engineering projects now as well. I'd recommend Cub Scouts to any family looking for more structured learning and life skills education.Allie Bjerketvedt
