Let Us Re-Introduce Ourselves…

By its nature, Scouting is fun, bold, thrilling, daring, and adventurous. At Pack 36, your Baxter Area Cub Scout family, we invite you and your child to join us for safe, socially distanced activities during the unprecedented year of 2020.

Our Den Leaders, Travis Bjerketvedt and Chris Hadfield, both have children of their own in Cub Scouts and understand the importance, now more than ever, of connection, care, and keeping kids motivated and focused on a goal bigger than themselves.

We know schedules are jam-packed and families are juggling a lot,
that's why we only ask for attendance to one or two events each month.

This year, our activities will include Pinewood Derby (did we mention all Scouts get a free Derby car?!), snow tubing, “Survival Camping” at Camp Confidence, and more.

We’ve designed outings that are focused around our core values AND activities that your kids will be excited about – building memories, morals, confidence, and connections that will last long into their middle school and high school years.

"A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous,
kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent."

Now, don't those sound like characteristics
you'd love to see your child develop for long-term success in life?

    Scout Oath

On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

    CUB SCOUTS

The Bobcat rank is the first rank earned by Cub Scouts, no matter which grade they begin scouting, except for kindergarten Lion Scouts. After earning the Bobcat rank, the youth then begins earning an age-based rank. The Cub Scout age program is for kindergarten through 3rd graders – Lion scouts, Tiger scouts, Wolf scouts, and Bear scouts. After completing Bear scout requirements, scouts begin their Webelos program and finish Cub Scouting with the Arrow of Light.

    BOBCAT

All Scouts start as Bobcats, no matter what age they are when they enter Cub Scouts. After demonstrating preliminary achievements, like understanding the Scout Oath, a Scout advances to the next age-appropriate rank.

    LION

Lion Scouts is a fun introduction to the Scouting program for kindergarten-age youth eager to get going! Lions do adventures with their adult partners and other Lions every month. This program introduces youth and their families to Scouting and the outdoors as it builds a foundation of character.

    TIGERS

First-graders or 7-year-olds work toward earning their Tiger badge. So while a boy is in the “Tiger rank” he is achieving the necessary adventures and requirements to earn his Tiger badge. This is the same process for Wolf and Bear ranks.

    WOLF

This rank is for 8-year-olds or Scouts who have finished first grade.

    BEAR

This rank is for 9-year-olds or Scouts who have finished second grade.

    Webelos

These Scouts have finished third grade or are 10 years old. The requirements Scouts work on as Webelos contribute to earning their Arrow of Light.

Your child can join Cub Scouts at any age.
Boy Scouts Program Is Now Scouts BSA, welcoming girls to join as well.
